OUR MISSION
We are all looking for a little peace in our day to day existence, a break from the overload of stimuli we are subjected to day after day. Peace in Paradise's mission is to give you that peace during your time at the retreat; and to send you home with the knowledge of how to obtain that sense of peace when you need it the most. We will give you new avenues to obtain peace and the knowledge and education to move forward with your yoga training.
Peace in Paradise will also give you a taste of Hawaii and Hawaiian culture that you never thought possible as a tourist.
There is a yoga saying: "Be Present in the Moment." We will live that philosophy during your time at Peace in Paradise. Every activity will teach you to be Present in your day to day life. There is a shift to consciousness, and we will give you the tools to change your life.
Yoga Philosophy
Peace in Paradise practices Hatha Style of Yoga. We offer two yoga classes each day; the morning meditation along with a slower paced wake up and greet the day yoga class; the afternoon class is more vigourous. Combined they work to bring you flexibility and balance, strength and depth. We offer yoga for all levels; our instructors are highly trained professionals, able to deal with all levels of experience.
Take what you learn at Peace in Paradise into your daily life, expand and enrich your relationships. Our teachers will be an integral part of the Peace in Paradise Retreat, available to answer questions, and help you move forward with your yoga beyong your time at the retreat.
Ana & Kini
Ana and I started adventuring with guests in 1996 when we taught them diving and took them sailing...Over the years we have met many interesting families who we consider Ohana.....we sailed in Italy with Betty and Mama Mia who live south of Rome in 2003 after they stayed with us; and this June we are sailing with some friends from Alaska around Homer. In line with these close ties and fun adventures we have had with folks we decided to offer a fun filed week retreat with yoga being the theme.....
We actually got into yoga after a trip to Italy that involved too much Gelato and spaghetti vongale. When we started doing yoga 3 times a week we noticed some amazing changes...most notably increased breath capacity, balance and core strength along with flexibility and meditative peace facilitated by exhaustion. Ana even got back into surfing, another great yoga by-product....
After getting to know the Yoga community we thought it would be fun and rewarding to plan a Hawaiian yoga retreat and enjoy and share yoga but also give a taste of Hawaii in a smorgasbord of courses including Hawaiian massage (lomi Lomi) and Reiki certification....along with Salsa and ecstatic dance.....then throw in a luau at Sea Life Park and a sail on our sailboat, along with a day hike and that should be a memorable experience for all involved.....we welcome you to come share with us....aloha nui loa..kini |
