What is Reiki? Reiki is a system of natural healing which works with the life force energy or “ki” that flows through every living thing. The Usui System of Reiki Healing was developed in Japan by Mikao Usui in the 1800’s and brought to the West by a woman from Kaua’i named Hawayo Takata. The basic practice of the System is hands-on healing. Reiki can heal both acute and chronic conditions, bringing body, mind and spirit into balance. Reiki always goes to the root of the problem and can never do harm. Most people experience a deep sense of peace and relaxation during treatment. Anyone can learn Reiki, and those who take a class are able to treat themselves and others for the rest of their lives.
